The Curriculum
Children have an innate desire to learn about the wonderful world that surrounds them. As a teacher and parent I want to encourage, promote, refine and preserve this natural curiosity. With the right tools I believe we can create in all children a love of learning that will last a lifetime. I provide a sensory-rich, child-directed, educational and bilingual curriculum for the child. Throughout the course of the class session we will have free choice, reading time and child participation along with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities, outdoor play, and exposure to the arts, with the focus being on discovery and exploration. The curriculum I use is one I have created through my vast experience in the field as well as new research and information available.
Child-Directed Play
In a Child-Directed Environment, the teacher stays aware of what the children are doing but her role is that of facilitating play and discovery rather than directing play. The teacher does this by providing opportunities for each child to engage in interesting and challenging activities that promote competence and mastery. Being child-led means that the daily schedule is not set in stone but rather is a basic guide we follow. Children do thrive on routine. This means that even if we do not spend the exact amount of time each day on every activity, we do follow this sequence for consistency.

TUTORING
We offer tutoring in every elementary subject from emergent reading to spelling help to algebra. We are an ESA vendor for homeschooling families or we take private pay at the very affordable rate of $25 per tutoring hour as well. Contact us to see about signing up for a spot!
CLASES DE ESPANOL
We provide beginner level Spanish classes to all ages. We take ESA where applicable. Classes are taught by a native speaker and conversational Spanish vocabulary is the focus.
